Brazil Custom Group Vacation Package – Bahia Culture (6 Nights)
You will have the opportunity to learn about Afro-Brazilian Culture in 1 week of Afro-Brazilian Culture, Capoeira and Berimbau Classes. This package includes 6 nights at hotel with breakfast, transportation in/out hotel-airport, 2 Afro-Brazilian Classes, 2 Capoeira Classes, 1 Berimbau Class, 1 city tour and 1 Folkloric Show in Salvador.
The Afro-Brazilian Culture Class combines theoretical and practical classes about Afro-Brazilian Culture. Participants receive a profound introduction to Candomblé (Afro-Brazilian religion) and the history of Afro-Brazilian culture, rituals and music, economic and social problems, and more.
You will visit an Afro-Brazilian Candomblé religious ceremony; go to markets and to Afro-Brazilian Museums and institutions. Students soon understand that these are not just cultural activities, but an intense introduction to Bahian philosophy and way of life.
During the Capoeira Classes, the teacher, trained in Afro-Brazilian dances, will give you first notions of Capoeira movements that is famous in Salvador and always shown and used during the Carnaval.
The Berimbau is a percussion instrument with African origins. It produces an exotic, melodious sound during the Capoeira circles and festivals.
During the Berimbau Class you will learn how to make and how to play the berimbau. A professional instructor and percussionist explains the essential parts and elements of the instruments, and then shows the most important rhythms for which the instruments are used for. He teaches you how to construct your own berimbau, and you will take home your instruments on the last day of the course.
Enjoy these classes in the wonderful exotic city of Salvador da Bahia which is the second most touristic city of Brazil and has an interesting mixture of African and Portuguese influences, music, dance, food and dress.

Day by Day Itinerary
This is a Sample Vacation Package that we have created for customers in the past.
Day 1 – Salvador
Arrival in Salvador and check in at your hotel. Relax, and enjoy the neighborhood. Don’t miss out on the numerous Bahian delights offered at the famous beach bars!
Day 2 – Salvador
We suggest you take the morning to relax by the pool at your hotel or on the Porto da Barra beach. In the afternoon you will have Capoeira Class from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
Day 3 – Salvador
In the morning we suggest you a visit to the famous and unique Bonfim Church, and the Ribeira and Mont Serrat neighborhoods, historical places not to miss!. In the afternoon you will enjoy your first Afro-Brazilian Culture Class.
Day 4 – Salvador
Your morning is free for your personal leisure activities. In the afternoon you will have another Capoeira Class, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. At night, we suggest you invite your friends to come along with you to the numerous bars located in Barra.
Day 5 – Salvador
We suggest shopping in the morning for souvenirs to take back home. In the afternoon you will have your last Afro-Brazilian Culture Class. At night, you will experience the “Bahia by Night” tour, enjoying dinner at the Solar da Uniao. This folkloric show is hosted at the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, where you can enjoy Brazilian food and drinks. This show features an excellent presentation of Capoeira, Samba, ancient slave dances, and even a sample of Candomblé, a religious rite typical in this region.
Day 6 – Salvador
In the morning you will have the Berimbau Class and in the afternoon you will be exploring the historic side of Salvador. You will visit Pelourinho, the historical district of the city, followed by a delicious Bahian lunch. Then you will visit the Mercado Modelo in Cidade Baixa. The Mercado Modelo is a colorful market filled with an abundance of cultural handicrafts, souvenirs, and local products.
Day 7 – Salvador
Transportation will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the airport.
