Juma Opera in Manaus, which after many years under construction is finally opening its doors in September and promises to be one of the best options for short stays in the city.
Juma Opera – Manaus
The long-awaited Juma Opera Hotel will finally open its doors in the second half of 2019 – scheduled for September.
Part of the same group as the Juma Amazon Lodge, the Juma Opera is a Boutique hotel located in the city’s historic center. It has a prime location right in front of the Teatro Amazonas (Opera House), Manaus’s main tourist attraction and one of the most recognizable sites in town. The hotel’s building is on the prestigious Historical Heritage list (Iphan), requiring a meticulous restoration process to maintain the magnificent Belle Epoque style originally built in the 1800s.
The 42 rooms are acoustically treated and the interior design is signed by the award winning architect Débora Aguiar, providing comfort and sophistication to the lovely surroundings. The vast majority of rooms overlook the Amazonas Theater, thanks to the fact that all the electrical wiring that was previously on the street has now been put underground. The bathrooms are all spacious and some benefit from bathtubs. Given the hotel’s commitment to sustainable practices, water is heated by solar energy.
The hotel offers an event space (up to 320m2), fitness center, lobby bar, restaurant and a pleasant rooftop with a pool, bar and a great view of the theater and the Rio Negro in the background. The restaurant is centrally located and will serve delicious Amazonian cuisine featuring lots of fish and indigenous delicacies.
We are really excited by this news as Juma Opera will be an excellent option to complement our ecological packages, meaning passengers who visit the Amazon rainforest can also experience the beauty of the urban center of Manaus for the first or last few days of their trip.
