You will enjoy Jalapao and its greatest natural beauties during this 7 days and 6 nights Jalapao Adventure Safari Package. Using a 4x4 truck specially developed for this tour, you will be in contact with nature and discover the amazing Serra Geral Mountains .This package includes 2 nights with breakfast at the Pousada dos Girassois in Palmas, - the capital city of the State of Tocantins, 4 nights with all meals at the Safari Camp, located on the edge of Rio Novo River, transportation in/out airport to pousada and tours in Jalapao.

In the very heart of Brazil, surrounded by the gigantic Serra Geral Mountains, with pure and crystalline rivers, paradise beaches, very primitive natural environment, this region is one of the last where Mother Nature is and will be kept intact: Jalapao.

Despite of being called “Jalapao desert”, this area is more like an Oasis, with huge rivers, falls, springs and plenty of wild life.

Using a 4x4 truck specially developed for trips in areas like this, comfort and security are assured: comfortable seats, air conditioner and some exclusive and creative items, like windows that can be fully opened, 8 places on the roof of the vehicle that can be used to see the places being crossed, or to take that unforgettable photo, as well.

Day 1:

Arrival in Palmas and transfer to hotel.

Day 2:

Breakfast and start the trip to Jalapão. Stop for lunch in Ponte Alta, a small city in the route to the Safari Camp. Arrival at the Safari Camp, have a meeting to review the program and preventive measures for a wild area environment. Dinner.

Day 3:

Mirante da Serra with a spectacular view of Jalapão is your first trip of the day. After lunch, you will visit the Sand Dunes, with a different golden color and surrounded by big "Chapada" mountains; this is one of the most beautiful sights of the region. Sandboard and trekking are good ways to end the day.

Day 4:

Canoeing. Rio Novo is one of the last drinkable water rivers in the Brazilian savanna. You will ride and play 12 Km down the river surrounded by wild life and beautiful scenery.

Day 5:

Straight to the Cachoeira da Formiga, a river fall that produces a swimming pool like area with a marvelous blue color. Then, Poço do Fervedouro, where a river is located in an area surrounded by banana trees. Because of very special natural conditions, the water pressure is so high that is impossible to sink.

Day 6:

Cachoeira da Velha and Cachoeira da Suçuapara, a small canyon with a beautiful water fall. Trip back to Palmas.

Day 7:

• Breakfast and transfer to the airport.

• During the program, you will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

• What you should bring with you :

• Boot or tennis shoes for walking in the wild areas

• Old tennis shoes for aquaraid

• Sun block, hat, and mosquito repelent

• Sport long-sleeve shirt(white preferable) for aquaraid

• Swimming clothes

• Light sweater

• Sunglasses

• Small flashlight with extra batteries

• Towel

• Medicines that you take under physician control

• Maxium you can take with you as your carry on luggage is 20 Kgs

• Basic information:

• Jalapãos a remote region and has no infra-structure. The closest physician is 280 Km from camp.

• We carry a satellite phone with us, but en route there is no signal for cell phones. There are normal phones in the cities visited.

• This kind of tourism sometimes involves risk activities. Based on this, the program can be subject to changes anytime the team leader thinks it necessary.
