Brazil Vacation Package - Arraial D'Ajuda (3 Nights)

Arraial d'Ajuda, along with Trancoso, is a sub-destination of Porto Seguro and is situated on a peninsula which lies across the bay from Porto Seguro, accessible by small ferry boat. In recent years, this charming, artistic, village has gained fame as one of the most trendy and 'happening' Brazilian holiday destinations. In the 16 th century it was a Jesuit colony, and there still exist ruins of foundations where the first Jesuits built. It's winding, cobbled streets are filled with charming pousadas, sophisticated boutiques as well as rustic artisan shops, fashionable bars and international restaurants. This package offers you comfortable accommodation in a beautiful hotel and nature tours with an English-speaking guide.

Day 1:

At the Porto Seguro airport you will be met by a private driver and taken in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Hotel Pitinga in Arraial d'Ajuda, where you will check in. We suggest lunch at your hotel - try the delicious seafood. The afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy.

Day 2:

After breakfast today you will be taken on a full-day boat tour to visit the beaches of Espelho and Curuipe. The tour sets off from the beautiful beach of Pitinga, from where you will travel south in a comfortable schooner along the south Bahian coast with marvelous views of all the beaches in the region - Taipe, Rio da Barra, Nativos, Coqueiros, the nudist beach, Setiquara and many more, until you reach the beaches of Curuipe and Espelho. Here you will disembark and have the afternoon to relax on these lovely deserted beaches, under the shade of a palm tree, or in the warm crystal blue waters.

Lunch is optional and you can request a barbecue in the boat, if desired. On the way back to Pitinga you will see a gorgeous sunset over the ocean, and if you are lucky enough to be traveling on the day of a new moon, you will see the bright red new moon rising over the horizon. Day 3:

Today you will visit the most rustic village in the region - Caraiva. Start off by trekking through lush, green Atlantic rain forest for 2 hours until you reach a tiny little village, forgotten by time, with no electricity, telephones, and no motorized vehicles. Here you will have to cross the Caraiva River in a dugout wooden canoe, exactly like the original native Indians in this region would have done centuries ago.

On the other side of the river, a boat will be waiting to transport down the river on a photographic safari to a farmhouse, where horses will be waiting for you. Your horse ride through marshes will take you to Monte Pascoal, which is where the Pataxo Indians live. You will see how they live, get to know a bit about their culture and see their artisan wares. Contine along Caraiva's stunning beaches until the village center, where you will have the option to relax on the beach, swim, sunbathe and have lunch. (all-day tour and includes water and soda.)

Day 4:

After breakfast and checking out of the Hotel Pitinga, you will be taken to the Porto Seguro airport.
